Lifting a 944 for wheel refurb

I am having my wheels powder coated and would like to know the best way to raise the car off all 4 wheels.

I planned to just use 4 jacks on the jacking points but are their better ways if I use wood beams and axle stands?

Can anyone suggest the best loaction points for the stands jacks

Thanks

If its a S2 then you can lift the whole of one side at once...
There is a jacking point in the middle of the cill. Its indicated by a small "diamond" type shape...Try looking in your owners manual....

Be carefull with the front points. The little nipple things just behind the front wheel arches are actually not jacking points although there are plenty of people out there who have used them successfully so if you do use them be very careful.. The manual says the load bearking points at the front are just inboard about where the main structure blends into the floor pan. Also castor mounts are also a good place to put your axel stands. But the best method I think is to see if you can borrow another set of wheels to put the car on. I never feel the car is very secure on 4 axel stands.

Yes lots of us have a spare set so you might be able to arrange a short term loan - alternatively standard wheels can also be bought quite cheaply, and easily resold,
Tony
