Saw a Red 944 today (either turbo or S2 by looking at the front).

Well - it had front lights on, and I mean the side lights (?) next to the front reg plate next to the indicators - thats all fine - but the weird thing is that the main 'frog' lights were down???

How did he do that??? - it was like day running lights or side lights I guess - but when I turn my side lights on, the frog lights come up..

Was confused... I did wonder if it was main beam - but didnt look that bright , although it was day time.??

..nice guy as he did wave tho

I did this mod to mine yesterday, took 15 mins and looks a lot better!

You have an odd one something to do with UK sidelight legislation of sidelights at the time the car was made. Mine was the same. Headlights pop up when sidelights are switched on. There is a mod you can do I found it on here and I did it successfully. If you don't find it PM me and I will send you words and pictures etc

Yes on my S2 I can turn of the sidelights and the headlights stay down, you can then turn on the front fogs (and rear fogs should you wish) without the headlights poping up.

Dim dip law that the EU deemed illegal - and forced us to repeal.
