Light Steering

Went on a drive to cornwall (from London) for a few days ... great fun, no problems. But today, I noticed that the steering felt lighter than normal particularly at centre (normally there is resistance when turning it slightly left and right) and also at times when I am taking corners. The tyre pressure is fine and the car is not veering off to one direction. Is there a problem with my power steering pump or fluid? Or is it something else? Has anyone else experienced this in the past?

no i don't think so ... it is more about the inconsistency of steering feel - almost like at times there is too much power steering. having driven the car (987) for over a year, i am familiar with the consistent weighting of the steering but now i feel that as i take a corner (at normal speed), i lose some of the feel (resistance of the road) and there is some vagueness.

i have contacted porsche mayfair (spoke to a salesman) and left a voicemail on a technician's voicemail and no response so i am getting annoyed ...

could be as simple as you've hit a pothole at the wrong angle and knocked the steering geometry out - if you've had the car much more than a year its not a bad thing to get checked anyway. Or possibly the chip controlling the variable steering ratio on the 987 has gone kaput.
