Light switch failure?

My wife decides to take my Cayenne to work today to ensure she reaches her office, after being stuck working @ home for the past 9 nine days and suffering from cabin fever.

On route she phones to advise me that the light switch appears to be stuck on the fog light selector. She usually has the lights on Auto mode [light comfort pack]. I advised her not to worry about it until and to have a proper look once she parks @ the office.

Anway she has been unable to deselect the fog lights and the switch won't budge from that position back round to auto or off. When pushing/pulling it sounds like she isn't get the 2 clicks.

I'm puzzeld unitl she arrives back tonight and then I can take a look myself. Any ideas??? Has anyone else suffered a similar failure with the light switch and if so, is this something you can replace yourself or is it a visit to the OPC? Furthermore, if this is a straightforward replacement, would the Toureg switch fit?

Many thanks.

Update: last night I had a look at the light switch and it was stuck rigid in the fog lights selector position, although neither of the fog lights were selectable. The auto electrical load shutdown didn't kill the lights [tail and dipped beam] so rather than risk the hassle of a flat battery or removing the approriate fuses, I decided to force the switch using an adjustable spanner, with the jaws covered in cloth. This did the trick and although the switch is faulty and will need replacing, at least I can switch the lights on and off. The switch is clicking on every slight movement [like a wind-up toy] and the only mode that isn't working is side/tail lights only, but these operate OK when Auto mode is selected, so not a show stopper.

Anyway back to my original question: Has anyone else suffered a similar failure with the light switch and if so, is this something you can replace yourself or is it a visit to the OPC? Furthermore, if this is a straightforward replacement, would the Toureg switch fit? Also does the lower dashboard trim section [below the steering wheel] need to be removed in order to replace the light switch?

Not had that problem or heard of it as a fault. Would the Toureg switch be that much cheaper anyway? Looking at mine this pm it looks as though the trim would have be stripped out - but then what do I know[;)]
