Light under the rear view mirror?

Silly question I know, but its bugging me ...... Does anyone know what its use is?

I think the light you are talking about under the mirror is the 'orientation light' which basically glows orange and does not distract the driver when driving at night but allows him / her to see things around the control panel and gear lever.

Assuming the 997.2 is the same as the 997.1:

I really would suggest the FTM approach for such things. There's quite a few things on a modern Porsche that you would never have known about otherwise.

I FTM for you, found the section in the M, scanned the M, edited the scanned pic, posted the pic on photobucket, and then linked the pic to this post - all in under 5 mins...

Alex, thats not it, I dont have anti-dazzle mirrors,

Gary, Dillon, thanks - didnt know about the orientation light..... will have a play with PCM!

It's just there for drivers who wear expensive watches. They can hold their wrist under this light when it is dark and stare at their watch.
