Lights go out

Hi all

It's been a while since I've been on this forum, which is probably an indication that I've not been using my 944 much recently.

Anyway, I was out in it the other evening with the headlights on, switched to full beam and the lights went out completely, which was a little unnerving! I quickly turned full beams off and the headlights came back on. I tried this a few more times, with the same 'stealth mode' result. However, when I got back home, with the car parked on the drive and the engine running, mother full beams came on as they should.

Has as anyone else experienced this, or know what might be going on?

Hi Stuart, good to see the old girl's going well!

This happened to me on the S2. Scary, down a dark country lane! It's most likely the light stalk unit itself: the contacts dry up if it's not been used for a while, as mine had been off road for 9 months.

You can't easily dismantle it, so might have to find a good used one. I sprayed some contact cleaner in mine and drove it a lot more, that's worked so far. [:)]
