Lights - Help please

Hello,

I am thinking of bringing my 993 targa back to the uk permanently (currently in France); It is a left hand drive and I would like to know what would be involved in terms of making the headlights legal for the UK. Do I just need to change the lens (glass) or does the all light unit need to be replaced ?

Thanks

FXM

Franck,

I am led to believe that you can switch my UK lights to european ones by switching something inside the lens.....I can only suggest that you can do the opposite... The user manual tells how to do it.

takes about 5 mins.. a flick of the switch ! as per what's in the manual....

Interesting... I just bought my LHD 993 and the previous UK owner had an OPC fit UK head lights because it failed its MOT with just the RHD flick. I think the flick throws the light the other way so as not to blind on coming traffic but the throw does not fully satisfy MOT requirement (AFASIK). There must be some differance or else Porsche woludn't have made RHD and LHD versions of the headlights.

when you flick across.... focus is switched to the correct side but critically the top of the pattern is flattened......

RHD headlamps have the specific pattern for our side..... and vice versa
