Hi, i find my light that tells you the roof is down stays on most of the time even though it is correctly closed. Also the light that tells you the rear spoiler is up comes on from time to time,Has any one else had this. the same happens on my wifes boxster. Any help would be much appreciated.
regards dawson.

Not sure about the roof one (but you might try pressing the microswitch in the roof latch on the screen top a few times and seeing if that frees it up).

The spoiler light is a warning light to tell you it is NOT working. If this is coming on it indicates the spoiler has not come up. I would get it checked out as handliing will be affected (although - not so much in the UK - it is not supposed to come up until 75MPH, and goes down at 50).

The roof light is most probably the microswitch in the header rail as Mark says - try operating with a biro a few times.

The spoiler light is a failure to raise - probably dried out cylinders - a search on the forum or the wider internet should find you instructions on removal of the spoiler so you can access the cylinders ad hopefully free them and relube

Cheers both, the spoiler works ok if i press the manual switch by the fuse box. Not sure if it raises automaticaly at 75mph.The light comes on on start up and stays on,then sometimes i start the car and it doesn;t come on, really wierd!.thanks again
