Was it more than a few stickers and M-030 suspension?
A chap on Rennlist has owned a Genuine 951 Cup Car from new.
The cars were comprehensively modified by the factory racing department.
Below is an extract from one of his posts.
Considering they were supplied fully carpeted, with a comprehensive bolt-in roll cage, the 180kg+ weight saving is particularly impressive.
'Well, some of the mods are minor, but some aren't, and there are a bunch of changes compared to a normal 951. Here's a list from a factory sheet I had in my files on the car. It also says the car weighs over 400 pounds less than a standard car.
Magnesium racing wheels (8x16F, 9x16R)
Magnesium intake manifold
Magnesium oil pan
928 S4 brakes
Racing brake pads (front pads are 959 part numbers)
Brake cooling kit
Strut tower brace bar over engine
Fiberglass hood with race locks
Exterior power kill switch
Interior power kill switch
Larger higher output turbo unit
Larger sway bars, rear adjustable
High performance engine electronics
Surakrit safety windshield
Safety roll cage
Recaro racing seat
Driver racing harness
Lightweight side mirrors
Special front struts
Special rear shocks with springs
Strengthened rear torsion arms
Heavy duty racing clutch
Quick ratio steering
Higher degree limited slip axle

Perhaps the "Club Sport" thing in the US corresponds to the "Cup car" thing here in Europe.
A Euro 951 Cup car is not a "Club Sport" car in the M637 sense of the term, at least considering the Cup cars from the French trophy I have looked at.

Dealer claims to be selling one.... was there such a thing? Could he be refering to a cup model? If so, how will I know?
Turns out it was a genuine lightweight CS, Porsche described it as "very rare".
Sold to the owner of a small British sports car maker, for about the price of an average turbo...[]
Why still post Fen if you are unhappy....what is your gripe surely it can be sorted just a car club and all that...
944 Clubbie sounds good...

Lightweight panels, ally roof, no s/r, a/c, radio, e/windows. Cloth sports seats, M030, 928 brakes, wheels probably magnesium but certainly lightweight.
Car was 190k, but with full history. Slightly scruffy paint, fixed by seller, no rust.
I was getting slightly tempted myself!

If you change your signature it applies to all of your previous posts too.
Would be interested to know what has gone on. I have my suspicions but it would be a shame to lose Fen from this forum.

I'm not sure what the M-637 option included. Anyone?

Not sure i'd feel comfortable driving a car with all that magnesium on it. It is not a sensible material to have on a car. Yes it's lightweight but corrodes very easily and burns very easily and intensley. A Ferarri crashed on the A50 last Christmas and it was reported that due to the amount of Magnesium in the car it burned so quickly and ferrociously the occupants burned to death before they could get out of the car. Titanium is the same but doesn't catch as easily.

Mind you its all under the bonnet so a plumbed in extinguisher of sufficient capacity would stop the issue??

Knowing who the buyer is, I'm going to do a little delving to see if I can find out the full spec. Suffice to say it has been bought with historic racing in mind, by someone who knows a bit about cars.....[&:]
