Lightweight Portable Ramps needed

I am looking for a pair of lightweight yet sturdy ramps that can be used to reduce the slope where the pavement drops to a steep garage drive so as to stop my 997 from bottoming out on the break-over point. Ramps need to be approx 8-10ft long and portable so as to store away once used and take the weight of the car without underside support when in situ. If that makes sense can anyone please suggest a supplier as my current method of using scaff boards on bricks is probably far from wise!!

Draw roughly what you need and take it to a steel/aluminium fabrication company in your area for a quotation.

I think that the two requirements for a) light weight and b) ability to support the car, without underside support for 8+ feet, are probably mutually exclusive. At that length you could have the whole car on the ramp, say 800kg per ramp. Most ramps over that length would support circa 250kg each.

I am not sure from your description where the point to be raised is? Is a steep downward drive, or a pavement / road gully that needs to be bridged. I am thinking that a permanent 'adjustment' would be better if it could be done on your own driveway, or perhaps some hinged ramps that could be bolted down and lie flat on the drive when not in use. Random ideas!!

I’d support John’s comments, and I think you’d be better following a more scientific approach. Looking online it seems that the approach and departure angles for your 997 are about 11 and 14 degrees respectively. If somehow you can obtain a reasonably accurate measurement of your slope you should be able to fathom out what size of “infill” you will require using either a [digital?] 2-D construction … or maybe bits of cardboard!😀
