Picked up car from RPM yesterday after just over 2 weeks in the garage and as the saying goes ' you dont realise how good your Porsche is until its gone ' [;)] , the journey back on the A59 from Knaresborough to Preston was great and the car feels like a new car , new dizzie caps/rotors, plugs & leads , air con regassed, new badges, door strap properly sorted , spoiler modified , slave cylinder , gearbox oil etc etc , the car felt like a 993 should for the first time since Ive owned it , long may it continue .

Thanks to Andy/Nick at RPM who are both knowledgeable guys and who I would recommend as the service was excellant.

Cheers
Chris

Hi Chris

When u mention 'door strap properly sorted', I assume you mean wing off-weld and paint, which is something I need to get done to my drivers door sometime over winter. I'm interested in where RPM are, and how much they charged for this fix (e-mail if u like).

Mike

I got my door done at RPM. I went for the cheap option (without taking evything to bits) and it cost me £70.

Chris = Lancs, and Richard = Yorks, so RPM are up north somewhere then,(after exploring the clues available).

What did they do for £70 Richard, and is it a temp fix?
Chris, if you're looking in, how much is the wing off, weld, and re-spray option?

Just returned from a weekend trip to Coalville ( Leicester ) and after getting a maximum of 210 on a full tank prior to the new plugs/caps etc , despite a litttle heavy right foot , my guage is still on just over a quarter after 298 miles which is far more what I expected .The A50 from Leicester to Stoke enabled me for the first time really to give the car a little in the bends and the smile is still on my face after being home for an hour..the slight twitch did remind me I wasn't driving a Mondeo [:)]

Just take it easy with 'summer' tyres and salt on the roads ... grip is a fraction of normal .. [:-]

cheers, Maurice

Good and fair point.

Cheers, Chris

I had my driving side door pillar done in the summer, it had been done twice before at different Independants prior to my ownership, but they had carried out just the quick fix. My local bodywork specialist did it for me, he advised just to take the door off rather than the wing, so not to disturb panel gaps and all the seals. It came to £300 and was an excellent job.

Yes, I believe so. But as the car only gets occasional weekend use I thought the cheaper option may be the one for me, plus I'd just got the brakes done (£750) so my pocket told me to go for the cheap option as well. Not sure exactly what they did (a touch of spot weld I believe) but there are no marks or traces of any work, so I am very satisfied.

i've just had a quote from Shorade a porsche approved repairer in Cannock staffs for various bits and bobs on my C2S and the quote for the door strap properly done was £260 plus vat - a pretty fair price I think from a pukka porsche approved body shop.
