Limp Mode

I have a 2012 3.0 Diesel, with 70k miles. Recently whilst driving along on a fairly relaxed long distance journey the car went into what I can only describe as 'limp mode', with no warning lights on the dash. The car is driven regularly and all decent distances.
I have a Foxwell diagnostic tool, which when plugged in showed no errors. I have taken it to a reputable independent to plug in, and again there were no codes logged or present when they managed to replicate the fault. The car will drive fine in both automatic and manual gears, until I engage the right foot enthusiastically., then 'limp mode' symptoms with no errors showing or logged. If I turn the car off and on again, it will again behave itself until pushed.
I have carried out two gearbox oil and filter changes, with no change.
There is oil covering the right hand bank and appears to be coming from under the intake manifold or from the dip stick tube. The rocker seems to be pressurised when removing the filler cap (but I am told this is quite normal?). The injectors all seem dry and clean, except for some detritus around No 6.
Does anyone recognise any of the symptoms, or can you recommend next course of action? I will be stripping the intake down tomorrow, as I have detected a small crack in the inlet pipe where the dip stick mount is.
All help gratefully received.

Thanks!

Hi Steve,

Could be a number of things our cars have so many sensors, looks like you may have to bite the bullet and take it to your local dealership. That said I had an identical problem with a Ford Transit recently which eventually turned out to be a failing fuel injector.

Sorry I can’t be of any more help

Regards

Greg.

Thanks Greg, Had a full diagnostic check with no codes logged. Will persevere and update if I find anything. Have fixed the inlet pipe at throttle valve. My god there is some crud there! I think strip down of inlet/egr/manifold on cards for a clean down then injectors out for testing. Can't fix what you can't find, and don't want to keep chucking money at it (stealership option)
