Have any of you had any dealings with Lindsey racing? Are they easy to deal with? ie, answer the phone, return E-mails,
process orders and send stuff out straight away etc, etc?? Are there any tuning parts shops nearer to home?
Thanks in advance [:)].

I've had numerous phone calls and dealings with Lindsey racing. Always very helpful with excellent technical knowledge. You need to check on the time difference for the states before you call.

Nearer to home promaxmotorsport have a lot of experience of and sell many Lindsey racing parts.

I've had great service and quick delivery from Lindsey in the past and I've been using Promax to look after my car for the past 8 years.

You can buy Lindsey products from Promax with the security of dealing with a UK company or now the exchange rate is a bit better you can save some cash by buying direct, but watch out for import tax, VAT and sometimes a 'handling charge' from GB customs.

+1 for Lindsey Racing... I have been dealing with them now for 16 years, last order a few weeks back to get the new parts needed to overhaul my DPW. Service is very good, you'll get an answer to your e-mail usually within hours if you time it right. I have also spoken to Dave Lindsey on the phone a number of times and he is my first point of contact even when using e-mail. Some years back I also arranged through him an urgent delivery to my hotel in Fort Worth Texas while I was out there working, got an APEXI EBC amongst other goodies which I brought back with me, saving post and er... import...shss...:)

That's great! Many thanks guys, much appreciated [:)]. Will Promax be much more expensive than Lindsey, all things
considered ? [8|]. I have a rather large order to place.

Be interested to hear what your ordering there may be some better items sourced else where, what's jobs impression on there heads?

I have the LR stage 2 head fully loaded with a extra options which I can't remember now, I know that I have the 'high velocity exhaust' coating but not their special coating for the combustion chambers. i had included it on my list but they decided to leave it off as they had been having a few rejects due to this treatment and I believe it has been deleted from the list now. The head made a big difference , it's difficult to say what extra power I get as I did a lot of mods in one go but I have no doubt that without it the car wouldn't be the same. The head has never fully realised it's full potential before, with the modified intercooler ( now fitted) I'm sure the head will come even more into play.
to sum up... very pleased with LR heads.

I'm going to order the group set of "Ultra" engine and transmission mounts, stage two intercooler, uprated radiator and oil cooler
and, can anyone tell me where I can get the Brey Kraus, rear strut brace from? I already have the front one. [8D][8D][8D]!!!
Then, I need a full "Fab Speed" exhaust system with a 3" Turbo elbow [8D]!

It sounds as if you are going for a similar setup to MarkK.

I have a few Lindsey bits on my car (the Stage 1 IC being one of them). Whenever I have emailed Lindsey they have responded in a timely manner detailing the postage charges etc. UK Customs charges is something to bear in mind. When I used to import stuff from the States on other interests of mine customs could be a funny one.

Who is doing your build Pete? May I suggest that they recommend, supply and install everything in one go as a cohesive package. I'm not saying anything will go wrong but if it does then you avoid the situation where 'you supplied the parts, we just fitted them for you' . It may cost more in the short term but you'll already be spending many 1000's and a few hundred saved here and there is not worth it in my experience.

I tried their engine mounts... was only too happy to replace them with standard mounts after 600 miles. They might make sense on a bare tube racer, but for anything else they are in my opinion rubbish.

Other than these I have always been pleased with the few parts I bought from them, though some may need adjustment to fit perfectly.

Ic is pretty much stage 1/2 are the same. Barks item could be a slight price saver there I'm not sure, are going with maf? Or already have one? Barks ecu is a good solution to engine management and are intake, plus all you standalone gauges.
route are you taking with head?

Would be interested to know the camshaft specification Jon Milledge has recommended.

Hi Pete,

I thought it was you who had the issue with a burnt out valve seat on a LR head? I don't recall anyone else with one, but do remember the problem, Strange!
cheers,
Tony

Hi Tony

You are correct. No.4 exhaust valve burnt out but not sure if that's down to the valves which had finer lips to standard or down to running lean which it was. Valves will be standard for this rebuild just in case, no. 4 has always been the weak spot on these engines...most head gaskets fail here as did mine twice before upgrading to cometic, a widefire gasket also failed in this spot.

Cheers

Pete

My car had lots of Top spec Lindsey stuff, plus Promax custom 1 off parts not on any cars I have seen....Exhaust is Fabspeed 4 inch with custom silencer to alter acoustics.
Not just a few Lindsey parts...!
My Suspension and Brakes upgraded also.
