Linen S2 and dog mascot...removed...

Well after much pi** taking and laughter all round[:D] I have managed to remove the pointer mascot from the bonnett of my newly purchased S2. It has left a small mark but I can live with that, not much I can do anyway apart from respraying it, but its not bad enough to warrant that. I am a little concerned that the now exposed metal where it has been drilled out may rust and bubble under the paint around the hole. To help prevent this I have sprayed some anti-rust treatment and plan to use some touch up paint once I get my hands on some.

I have also changed the steering wheel to a Momo Prototipo in black which I think looks 100x better than the old one. RPM have just did the belts, cam chain and a 12K service so now I'm one happy bunny!.. let me know what you think...

Just to remind you how it looked before..

Well done! Wheel not exactly to my taste in an otherwise standard car, but agreed it's 100x better than the previous one.

I love the Prototipo in all 70's 911s and RS alikes, but I have to say it does make a change from the ubiquitous 'Club Sport' wheels that usually replace the original 'lozenge' - ie like the one in mine[8|][:D]

Nice looking car [:)]

Agreed - but I guess I think it's more a stripped out lightweight car's wheel.

In a perfect world perhaps, but in my world you dont need to have a lightweight stripped out car to have a lightweight steering wheel.

Not a criticism, just a further explanation of my earlier comment. I agree that it's infinitely better than the one the car used to have. I like the lozenge personally, but most people don't and there is no "right" choice.

No offence was taken Fen, sorry if it appeared that way...good to know some people prefer and enjoy these cars the way they were created.

Actually, mine is probably one of the furthest from how it was created on here, and ironically the Prototipo looks less hardcore than the deeply dished, suede-rimmed wheel in my car.

I guess I think the Prototipo looks "vinyl seats and wind-up windows", whereas my car is more "bucket seats, no door cards and no power steering". Having said that I think that there is a place for originality also, but a steering wheel is far from irreversible as a modification; it's not like drilling a hole in a body panel after all [;)][:D]
