List of Porsche 996 approved tyre models ?

Has anyone got a list of 996 approved tyre models (with their N rating as well)?
Interested in tyres for a 996 C2 or C4 and either 17" or 18" wheels.
My last Porsche purchase fell through, so I am looking at some other cars, but want to make sure that I won't have to replace the tyres almost immediately as they aren't the 'correct' ones.

Nik.

Thank you very much.
I did do a search on this forum, but the link you posted in the 'General Discussion Area' didn't come up.
I also searched the Prsche site, but I now see they use the 'tire' spelling.

This information is much appreciated.

Regards,

Nik.

On Autocar's long term 996 they specifically recommended Pirelli P.Zero Rossos (N4 I think). They said that these tyres gave a quieter and more compliant ride as well as improved handling, compared with the Michelins.

I swapped from Bridgestone SO2s to Pirelli P-zeros and the difference was very marked. No longer skittish in the wet and a whole lot quieter. The Bridgestones were only 1/3rd. worn (about 4mm tread) but I think the comparison is still valid. The new P-zeros have been on the car for over 2 years now and I have not noticed any fall-off in performance from them.
Exits from side turns used to be "interesting" with dabs of opposite lock as soon as the loud pedal was used. The P-zeros just squirm!

Bridgestones came fitted to mine as standard (the C4S had Contis).
They seem to be a little more noisy, but it is hard to be sure.

Interestingly on the driving experience day, once of the Porsche guys there liked the Bridgestones since the breakaway was more predictable and controllable.

I can't say that I can see that much difference to be honest. The road surfaces are so variable it is hard to be sure, and they variy day by day anyway.
In any case I am trying to be smoother now and drive the car better (as a result of the driving day), which may be masking some of the difference.

I had conti's on the previous TT, this one came with Pilot sports, as yet not impressed with the Pilots compared to the Conti's.
Conti's certainly seemed to give less road noise and take water drenched roads alot better. Also the Pilots are very expensive[]
But early days at the moment.
