Litonic headlight problem

Gordon Fogarty

New member
The OS litonic headlight adjust motor on my 996 has stopped working.
All the lights work but the beam height does not adjust when the high beam is selected.
Anybody had a similar experience?

Cheers

I would start by checking the headlight connector - they are notorious for becoming unclipped from the bracket in the wing, and giving a poor connection. If that doesn't cure it, a diagnostic check will tell you if the motor is faulty. New motors are about £95+VAT. Ouch! []

Hi Gordon, I am also based in Belfast. I can have a look for you if you want. I fixed the faulty motor on mine.

I have listened to the motors in each light unit.
The NS motor which works fine sounds different to the OS motor.
The OS motor sounds laboured. but a least it sounds like it is running. The OS light does not move however. (dip to main beam)
So I think at least all the connections must be OK.

Going to have another look at the mechanism inside light unit see if anything is binding.

Took it all apart,
Took motor out.
Reassembled everything.
Now its working !.
So is there an intermittent fault or a dodgy connector issue?.

Cheers
