Litronic beam alignment servo problem

Hello all, in need of some of some advice!

My Boxster 2003 S (facelift) has developed a problem with its nearside (left hand) beam alignment servo system.

The headlamp is permanantly pointing at the ground and does not respond to any commands, it does not respond to beam levelling or full beam requests. The servo has a resistance of 7.2 ohms across both coils.

It is stuck in the safe position, no mechanical faults appear to be present.

No short circuits or ground faults are evident.

Sadly I do not currently own an OBC diagnostics tool so does anybody know of common faults on the Litronic system?

Thanks!

Shame you aren't a bit closer to me, as I could help with the diagnostics. You are shooting in the dark a bit without knowing the fault codes, but I have the diagnostic sheets, and a wiring diagram if they would help. Drop me an email if you would like a copy.

Hi Richard,

Thanks for the reply, yep the diagnostic sheets and wiring diagrams would be of use, I will send you a mail.

Do you know if the HBA module is prone to failure?

Thanks
