litronic headlamp failure

Evening all,

Seem to be having an intermittant fault with my headlamps. On occasion when turning on the headlamps, they both flicker and not illuminate fully or at all. But turning the headlamp switch off-on normally sorts the problem. I've had a browse accross the club, and the headlamp switch seems to be a common fault?? Can anyone confirm or has had similar problems before I venture out to buy a new switch at 80+ pound?? Many thanks for help.

Regards,

DEAN.

The symptoms sound typical for a switch failure. Best get it sorted before they go out while you are driving. There is a good DIY here: http://www.porscheclubgbforum.com/tm.asp?m=501604

Hi Richard,

Thanks for reply. I was concerned the lamps would fail altogether, so will source a new switch, and feed back to you the outcome! Many thanks again!

I had a similar problem with my c4s last year. Mine was caused by the connectors at the back of the headlight unit having 'relaxed' a little. Try removing the headlight unit, then tweak the little sprung connectors at the rear out a little. then re-fit the headlight unit. This may work. good luck.
