Hi

We are considering the purchase of an '88 Supersport and was wondering if anyone could recommend a good place to get the car serviced and generally cared for that is not a million miles away [:)]

Thanks

The 2 that I have used and would recommend are Jon Mitchells Garage down in Christchurch and MR Performance cars near Salisbury. Both should have something on the net, although I can dig out numbers if you need.

Noel in our region also does Porsche work at his very nice workshop near Dorchester, ISTR his business is called something like Coolit Tech, since he is an aircon specialist.

Forgot to say that Noel really knows his stuff (he is an aircon guru in particular), does a lot to support the region and has a superb workshop. The wording of my previous posting was only done that way because I have never used his services, etc. etc.

For me Jon Mitchell is very good for performance tuning, track modification and detailed diagnostic knowledge of things such as the cars ECU and electronics.

MR are very good at olde worlde stuff such as engine and gearbox rebuilds on older 911's. The newest Porsche I have seen there was a 968 and I think in many ways they just tick by on a long list of long term enthusiast customers.

I would recommend trying all of these guys or do what I do which is use them in combination where each is used for their particular strenghts.

Marque 21 is another used by some of our members.

Tim O'Dowd, like Noel is a good supporter of our region.

Come along to a meeting and have a chat with some of our members... we have a good idea of who is happiest with new or old, air cooled or water cooled.

Regards,

Tref.

Thanks Tref

Hopefully we will have a chance to come along to one of the meetings soon [:)]

Cheers

Carl
