Lock Actuator

I'm still waitng for a part list CD to arrive from my OPC which will hopefully have exploded diagrams to answer this question.

In the mean time, can anybody describe where the central locking actuator is located, i.e. on the barrel, on the latch, or elsewhere? If I remove the door handle will it bring the actuator out with it?

The car's off for it's annual service next week, I wanted to have a crack at fixing it before letting them charge me £80/hr+vat to do something very simple!
So I ideally need the info by the weekend, the cd has been "on it's way" for over a week now.
