Lock Replacement - 944

Hello, I have a technical query about my 1990 944 S2, which I hope you can help with.

I've spent the last few years recommissioning the car, and am looking to purchase a new drivers side exterior door handle (including the lock mechanism). After somebody decided to put a screw driver into the lock ;-(

I put in an order for the part (944 538 906 07) via my local Porsche dealership (Perth) at the end of March. But I've just been told this week that I need to provide the key / lock code for the locks in my car. Without that the part cannot be ordered.

My car is I believe fully original so believe it still has the original locks and keys. But am at a loss as to know where I can find the code associated with the locks in my car. Is it referenced on the car anywhere, do you know where I would find the code?

I provided the VIN Number and V5 when I ordered the part - and understood that from the VIN number, Porsche would be able to confirm the original key/lock code that was supplied with the car via build records.

Any thoughts or advice much appreciated.

Pi$$ poor from Porsche, best bet would be to buy a used barrel and get a good locksmith to re-key it to your key, if the handle damaged, buy the non specific one but its £227+ vat
