Locking car without alarm?

Not as far as I (and the Ferry Companies*[8|]) know.

You can diable the interior sensors (2 quick presses of the lock button) but that's it.

* I have found I have to disable the interior sensors on Car Ferries - otherwise the vibration when turning the ship around in port sets of the alarm (the plastic rear-window vibrates and sets them off). A long discussion with the Purser will then result where they show you the terms and conditions of travel that say you MUST turn your alarm off...[:mad:]


 
Damn. If I disconnect the battery will this cause any problems when I connect it back up again (i.e. lose some settings)?

I'm going away for a week or so and I'm worried that if the battery gets low it may set the alarm off? Or is that not the case? The battery isn't exactly full of life and I was going to replace it when the car goes in for a service in June.
 
When using the Ferry, I normally just lock the car by turning the key in the lock, and not using the fob remote. It's worked every time for me![8|]

Use the emergency locking procedure outlined in the owners manual. Turn the key to the lock position and back three times in quick succession. The car will lock, you will get a double-beep, and the alarm will not be set.
