Locking LED's permanently on - anyone know a quick fix?

This is typical. Just picked the cab up today after a 12k service, new oil level sender and new radiator temp switch (£345!). Someone is coming to see the car on Thursday. The LEDs in the door lock pins are permanently on all of a sudden.

So far the alarm hasn't played up so it's only annoying but now it's getting dark and the next time I have daylight free is Thursday morning when I planned to do Christmas shopping in case I don't have a car by the afternoon.

Anyone any ideas? I assume it's an earth problem or something. They do go off sometimes, no real pattern though; car running, not running, door open, door closed makes no repeatable difference. They also flash brighter when the alarm is armed, sort of bright/dim rather than on/off. Hoping it's simple as otherwise the car is spot on and ready to go...

Fen,

Sounds like a relay or switch's gone duff.

I can mail you the wiring diagram for the alarm if you want (I've tried reading it, but as I'm not an electrician, and it was 15 years since I did wirning diagrams in school, it was hopeless!)

Not stating the obvious, but have you tried diconnecting the battery for a minute or so (if it's a relay, they can sometimes stick, but reset themsleves with no power!)

I haven't tried anything yet, even looking at the wiring diagram (assuming it's in the workshop manual I have it already).

I'm not convinced it's that though as they DO go off and there's no clicking.

Oh Bum - Mine don't work so I didn't realise they were even there [:'(]

Another job to the list - when are they supposed to be on / off?

Off normally, single flash every 2 seconds or so when the doors are locked. Double or faster flashing indicates a fault of some sort.
