Locking Wheel Nut Stuck

One of the problems I didn't mention in my list http://www.porscheclubgbforum.com/tm.asp?m=119000 was that the front o/s locking wheel nut is stuck/sticking. I'm afraid that I tried attacking it yesterday with a combination of a rubber mallet, WD-40 and various sizes of screwdriver! I managed to remove the centre barrel containing the locking mechanism, but the outer casing remaind in place. With quite a lot of coaxing and some minor damage to the casing (why is it made of a metal only slightly harder than cheese?) I eventually managed to pull that off the bolt. However, it does seem very stiff on the bolt itself, has anybody else had a similar problem (the entire assembly comes off as a single unit on all three other wheels.)? Have I knackered it by managing to pull the centre locking mechanism from the outer casing? Any advice greatfully received.
Cheers,

Graham

I had this problem - same wheel - when on route to Le Mans a two years ago - much cursing on side of the Autoroute. I eventually got it off and cleaned it when home but it still sticks but does come off with a good straight pull with pliers.!!

I don't know why you would risk putting a sticky one back on again. If it gets totally stuck what are you going to do to get the wheel off without damaging it?

Why not buy a new set of the other type which have a big socket to locate with the "jimps" on the nut rather than the ridiculous key based ones that are nothing but trouble?

I had to drill two key type ones off mine.

Pain in the arse. Big time - especially as I got one of them off, and put it back on to prove I was doing it wrong[]

£20 or so later, and a nice set of shiny new locking nuts with spline as per Fen's post, I can now get them off easy!

Anyone know where I can get a key for my locking wheel nuts?, they are not standard as I have checked with a dealer.
They don't have a key lock, they have three holes in them. Failing that I guess the only way of getting them off is drilling???
