Locking wheel nuts

I've experienced problems with the locking wheel nuts on my car. They require a key, and should unlock when turned anti-clockwise. Unfortunately they one of them refuses to release whilst the other just keeps turning without unlocking.

Has anyone else had this problem? Is there a solution. I have bought new ones which don't use a key, but I'd like to keep the car original
