Locking wheel nuts?

Guest

New member
Hi,

I'm looking to get a set of locking wheel nuts and would like advice on what others have used, where they got theirs from, etc. I've looked online at Type911 and McGuard but wonder what experience other owners have with these or any other types? I've read a thread on the Boxter forum here that suggests that some work and some aren't so good.

Any ideas?

I used to have the key locking Porsche ones, with the plastic cap to cover the end. Trouble is, these caps wouldn't stay on, so the barrel of the lock got dirty, and difficult to use. They are also bigger (longer) than the standard nuts, so stand out.

I now have the type that look like the normal nuts, but need a cap with appropriate keyways that match the nut, and which fits the standard socket, same as the other nuts.
They are the same size as the standard nuts.

Nobody has ever tried to steal my Fuchs wheels, though, so do they work ?

If you look at www.911online.co.uk , select Gallery, and look at the 'wheel' picture, you can just about (not) see them !

off topic!

Thanks for that, John, I'll take a look! [:)]
