Logo Colour - simple question

Hi,

I think this will be a simple question for the knowledgeable members of this board.

What colour should the rear 944 s2 emblem be on a velvet red car black or silver?

The Porsche logo is silver if that helps.

Cheers

Ant

When I bought a 944 S2 from new in Guards Red the logo was in black.

Thanks Brendan,

Was the Porsche decal on that car black also?

My current thinking is that the 2 should match but think that the black one would look better.

Cheers

Did the cabriolet come with the 944s2 logo?

No. The turbo cabs have "turbo", the S2 nothing. When the cab was released it was S2 only, so no need to badge it.

That said, plenty will have had decals added over the decades, so I don't think it looks unusual.

As a matter of interest, did the Turbo (not the cab) come with a '944' badge on the back originally along with the 'Turbo'

No, just "Turbo" my logo is black on a black car which i actually like, the large Porsche script is silver, it has been like that for a long time neither i nor the last couple of owners have swapped it ?

As I understand it:

All 944s came badged on the right only, but de-badging was common, as with all German cars around that time. Could be black or silver, but so could the Porsche script on the bumper. I've not seen a car whre the two were different.

All 944 Luxes had "944".

The 944S had "944S", and optional "Ventiler" logo on the front wing rubbing-strip.

944 S2 had exactly that on the rear.

Turbo had "turbo" only, not 944. No UK cars had turbo s, se, cup, or anything else! Turbo S had optional front-wing decal on the top of the wing.

S2 cabs were un-badged. Probably to compensate for the extra weight of the roof mechanism....[;)]

Turbo cabs have the "turbo" badge, as all other turbos.

Simon, I might be wrong on some details! [:D]
