Long Term Storage

Hi Guys

Has anyone had any luck with long term storage of a 944?

I am possibly moving into my own house soon and out of the comfort of my parents place.

With this I will obviously be taking on all the associated bills and possibly a mortgage on the property plus the property needs renovating as well.

I reckon my fuel bill to work if/when I do move I reckon will triple to almost quadruple. Due to my age and the lack of money with renovating etc I wont unfortunately be able to own and run two cars.

I will have the option to leave my 944 in my parents garage while I move though this is a detached brick garage with a corrugated roof which sweats a bit so isn't anything like a modern garage attached to the side of a house. With this I can regularly go to the car and tick her over drive her up and down the drive a little to keep things moving rather than leave it to freeze up.

Can anyone see any short falls of this? As this would likely be for a couple of years where she wouldn't get proper blasts like they need.

Just trying to way up my options as don't really want to get rid of her!

Thanks in advance!

Will I keep my race car and trailer at a storage outfit that specialises in boats, motorhomes and caravans. They have covered and uncovered storage with self service entry 24/7, cameras alarms and all that stuff. I keep the race car on the trailer ready go in covered storage along with a load of motorhomes, an F355 and some classic american cars in my particular unit there. This costs me about £850 a year but the insurance went down as its classed as lower risk than keeping a race car and trailer at my house (which we can't do unfortunately anyway).

Sounds not to bad a deal!

Though I'm not to bothered by storage. My worries how likely am i to run into problems when I come to use the car again say in 2 years time. She will be regularly started but only have a small drive to go up and down to get anything moving.

cheers
