Longer wheel bolts

A quick question for those that may have a 997 or owned a 996 with wheel spacers. I am aware that those cars fitted with spacers have longer wheel bolts identified by a red anodised coating on the collar. These are apparently the same wheel bolts fitted to the Gt3 models. My question... ....There is a 996 and 997 part number offered for these bolts , I beleive the difference is the depth of the head of the bolt , one being 15mm the other 10mm , both cbolts are the same thread and length of thread. Can someone confirm what the head depth is for the 997 model ? Thanks

I think Richard may be the man to answer that question.. you'll find him easier in the 996 area

Thanks. Problem now resolved. The 996 Gt3 bolts are 15mm deep heads whereas the 997 ones are 10mm. I believe its the same for the standard wheel bolts on the 997/987 and 996/986. There are corresponding depth locking wheel bolts to match.

If you fit the longer head bolts intended for a 996/986 to a 997/987 wheel , the head of the bolt sits almost flush if not proud of the alloy wheel face on the front wheels.

For anyone fitting wheel spacers , make sure you get the 997 wheel bolt rather than the 996. Interestingly when I took off the old bolts I found there were 3 that were mismatched, probably the result of the car being in the main agent and wheel bolts being mixed between cars.
