looking for a 964 C2 manual

If things go to plan, I'll be on the look out for a 964 C2 manual over the next couple of weeks.

I have read a fair you buyers guides on them. Should I be put off by high milage cars ( 150K+) , especially if they have not had engine rebuilds? Any good places to start looking?

What about LHD James......might be a good plan if your not looking to spend a fortune & it'll be
a better car for the money.

I've got mine up for grabs at the moment, Guards red Coupe, RHD, 77,000 miles, FSH (stamped book and a large folder of invoices), recent Bistein/ Eibach suspension kit, AMD hot film conversion 285hp, '91 but first registered on a K plate, cups, teardrops, 3.8 RS steering wheel, immaculate classic grey leather interior, recent Cat one alarm immobiliser, dry engine, 5 months tax, MOT due in May (but will have 12 months on when sold ) £15,895

I would deffo consider a LHD. Looks like I might head down the 968 Club sport route

James
968 clubsport is an awesome car and great to drive. i only had mine for a year, used it daily and still miss it as it was so good...

but - its not a 911..and given the choice if i had to choose between both i'd go for the 964 as it has more character. 964 may well be slower/worse handling/less practical etc but accelerating through a tunnel in a 964 with the windows down is something which cannot be replicated in a 968 imho

Matt, you are right & this is where the dilema lies. I am lucky though & have my 2.4S for the 911 buzz, and there is probabally no other 911 I would want for pure road use. I have had the 2.4S on the track ( Cadwell in the wet!) and soon realised I didn't want to risk tracking that car.

I am worried if I get a 964 it could end up as a money pit. I reason a 968 clubsport is a bettter car with mild mods for the track, cost less to run & would be easier to sell on when my budget allows for the 964RS.

in which case i can't praise the 968 highly enough - mine was my main car commuting into work in London traffic. only issue i ever had was that without A/C it got a bit sweaty in the bucket seats in the middle of summer...[&:]
RE running costs - like all things if you get the right car then the running costs are not that much and should be cheaper than an equivalent condition 964.
(alternatively plead with the bank and go straight to the 964RS....)
