Hi All,

Need some assistance please. My uneven tyre wear requires a good 4 wheel alignment. Anyone who can be recommended near west london. Ideally, I'd like to go to CG but may have a quick sanity check done earlier.

Pls let me know as I assume this can't be done at a normal tyre centre, however good their machines are. My local place has 3 top-end hunter machines....

Roy,

Not sure about west London but I personally can't speak highly enough of Chris Franklin at Centre Gravity near Tamworth. It was well worth me traveling in excess of 400 miles for him to transform my car. If you do a search on here you'll find others singing his praises too.

Make the effort and go to CG, it really will be worth it and they charge the same amount as the other places. His attention to detail is second to none.

If not, then try JZM in Kings Langley, they are well regarded.

Definately don't go to places such as Wembley Tyres with their 'top of the range Hunter machines', they will just 'green' up all your settings and away you go. You could have -1 camber on one wheel and 0.5 on another (as my mother had done on her car). CG would class that as a joke.

The Porsche Service Centre at Byfleet have the same Beissbarth alignment machine that Chris uses at CG. They checked my car for pretty much the same reason as you have. One front wheel had too much negative camber. Don't get me wrong I'd rather go to Chris for some of his 'magic', but it put the car back to 'stock' to stop any further wear problems. They did a good job.

Tognola Engineering at Datchet. If I couldn't get to CG to do it, Peter Tognola would be my next port of call for someone local.

Thanks Guys! How about Northway Porsche? Anyone had an alignment from them? I know it's not West London...more west of london [;)], but their prices are pretty competitive...

Datchet (near Slough) is a lot closer to West London than Beenham. Tognola also have Beissbarth equipment.

Thanks Richard.
Spoke to Peter and will aim to see him next week. Will def book in at CG for a full all round check in the near future.

Thanks Guys,

Roy

I think chris' tolerances are 1 minute either way. I could be wrong with that tho, but he has a high standard of workmanship.
