Looking for a part-can anyone help?

Hi, im having problems with the drivers side electric window on my lux(surprise).
After replacing the lifting mechanism and then the motor ive discovered that its actually really neither. The part that is kaput is the additional part that fits on the motor that contains the plastic drive gear and its that plastic gear that has worn.
I was in contact with a guy on ebay and he told me he had the motor but when i got it yesterday it was the motor only and not the additional part that bolts to the mechanism containing the drive gear.
Does anyone local to the midlands have one of these parts i can buy. I can collect and pay cash. Cheers.

I'm pretty sure I have a complete passenger side winding mechanism (missing one of the black wheels that slot into the runners on the glass) in my garage, including working motor & gearbox which probably contains the part you need for your drivers side.

PM me if you think you can use it & I'll dig it out, you can have the whole lot to cannibalise for the price of a beer [;)]. Might be useful if you post a pic of the bit you're after.

Just had a look in the garage & I have the scissor mechanism with gearbox but the motor isn't attached (it's probably around somewhere). Is the bit you need is in the gearbox (rather than attached to the shaft of the motor)?

Its the bit that the long spindle of the motor fits into. The long spindle turns a plastic cog/wheel inside that drives the mechanism up and down. The bit i need is the mechanism that contains the plastic cog and clutch. I have two good motors and spindles but the part that is worn is the cog.
I will take a pic and post it up as it will probably be easier that way but thanks for trying to sort one out.

Ok, found this pic link on the net, the part i am looking for is the round section on the right(the darker coloured section) that fits on the spindle. Or at worst the whole section including the motor if its easier. Hope this helps. Cheers.

That round section is what I'm describing as the gearbox - that's the bit I've dug out (still attached to the scissor arms), albeit for the passenger side. It may be that the part you need is a mirror image of the one I have, or they may be the same on both sides.

What type is your car btw, early dash or later dash? Mine is for later cars, I don't know whether the early dash cars are different but it looks the same as the one in your pic.

Mine is early dash. Not sure if the part is the same on both sides or as you say mirror images of one another. I would think it is a mirror image but im sure someone with a greater knowledge than mine can confirm.

If you download the parts catalogue from the Porsche website you will be able to check if the part numbers are the same for early and late cars. Quite a lot of them are.

Cheers Smitty, so the part riverside has for the passenger side is not going to be any good to me then for the drivers side. Back to ebay then by the looks of it unless someone else has what im looking for.
This window is giving me nightmares!!
