Looking for a Smart Charger

Hi Folks

With the Cayman sat on the drive most of the time, the battery is getting a bit low and I was thinking about getting a charger, but not sure what type. I also have a diesel Golf, which has the same problem, not being used much at the moment.

I have looked at the NOCO Smart Chargers Genius 5 and 10, the boost the battery, trickle charge etc.

Would appreciate any thoughts or recommendations.

Another vote for CTEK, i have used them for over 10 years my 997 is hooked up and a z3 on the drive, no prblems.

Adam,

I’m not familiar with the NOCO chargers but like Steve have used the same CTEK charger for more than 10-years without problems, although the selection button can be a bit ‘iffy’ these days (a known fault due to contact corrosion).

Note that the Porsche Charge-o-mat charger is just a rebranded CTEK so it’s probably cheaper to buy elsewhere.

OptiMate chargers also have their fans. Jeff

Thanks Andrew much appreciated, I have just bought the CTEK and accessories. That should look after the cars.

Adam

Thank you Jeff, Steve and Kaiser for your help.

This Forum is always good for help and advice.
