Looking for a Turbo

Another newbie here and would appreciate some wisdom from you turbo guys, i am just starting out on a quest to look for a 996 turbo that i have always fancied since i first saw then it was first launched and was wondering why that at the moment are there alot of cars around that have done approx 50,000 miles that are up for sale, is there any reason for this? My budget for this is 40-45k can anybody give me any pointers as what to be looking for? and what i can expect for my money any input will be greatly appreciated.

No real reason on mileage I guess - people tend to buy use for a few years and move on to something else - these are daily drivers so expect 10k pa mileage easily.

As daily drivers though they are probably well maintained....you will know that when you see one or not.

My car has just hit 80k miles this week and will probably be up for sale soon....bit high for you but also below your budget....which is pretty rare for a 996TT[;)]

They are not as rare as their predecessors so there is quite a lot out there.

Not a lot to look out for, most reliable of the 996 cars just look around and see what youlike then have it inspected by your local independant and if you are new to the game and worried about any major bills and want to be safe then have a 111 point check at your local OPC and take out the Porsche extended warranty for c£900 I think.

If you are into Amazon Green there is a very nice 40k mileage car at Northways for £39k. Ray Northway is on holiday so ask for Paul and tell him I sent you.

My turbo has done 58000 miles on an 'X' plate and I think it is still as tight as the day it rolled out of the factory.....very reliable, stunning to behold....it is spotless except for where some dumb cluck drove it into the garage and didn't see the barbeque.....!

Rgds, Brin
