looking for new locking wheel nuts

After getting my car checked up by me local indie the other day I thought I would go and find out how much the parts that are needed are going to cost me down at Exeter OPC while most of it was very reasonable, I thought that £440 was a bit steep just for some locking wheel nuts does anyone know where I can get some for cheaper doesn't necassaraly have to be like the originals just so long as they fit.
 
Is your head cut? This price must be a mistake, they are available for around £30 , try your local car accessory shop, Paul
 
That price is incorrect ask them again 30-40 quid maybe from an OPC or Jasmine wheels??
 
I bought a set of Locking wheel nuts from Exeter last year having lost my old nut key.
They lent me their own to remove the old ones, sold me a new set with new key and the total cost with PCGB discount was about £44 - somebodys misread their price details.
 
All that said I'd not get the ones with the key - I've had to drill one off because it corroded up and was deep in the recess of a Cup wheel and it was not fun. Andy advocates getting the later type with the splined head and matching socket for removal as they are more corrosion resistant - and more secure as the ones with the key are pretty easy to defeat with a drill.

I was thinking that they do look too easy to get through so would like ones from the later 911s or boxsters or whatever fit as well
 
I got mine for 20-odd quid. I can't remember where from though - I think it was Porscheshop. Still got the original key ones in the garage. They were a pain in the neck to remove and sometimes necessitated the use of some pliers. Not what you want when trying to change the spare wheel on the side of the road.

No - the 996/7 and Boxster use bolts, not nuts.
 
From memory the ones I use have a 993 part code and cost £40. I'd be careful with the off the shelf ones from the high street, I bought some and they caused terrible vibration as they threw the balance out, they were so much heavier than the Porsche ones.
 
Check 993 ones fit. I think you might need different ones for Cups than for D90s because of a change to the angle on the seating face in each hole. 993 ones would suit Cups obviously.
 
Actually thinking about it I'm not sure the Cup ones are different. I remember having to get new nuts when I changed the wheels on a car years ago but I think maybe it wasn't a Porsche now.
