Looking for some basic info!

Hello!

I'm not - as yet - a Boxster owner, but I hope to be. I'm looking to sell my current roadster and, with a budget of around £16k, buy a used 2.5 Boxster. Can anyone provide links to sites advertising used Boxsters for sale? I've 'googled' and spotted a few, but wondered if anyone had any other sites they could recommend as a good starting point to begin my search.

I also wondered how the Dorset area stands re reliable garages when it comes to having work or servicing carried out.

As a total 'newbie' (having never owned a Porsche!) any advice and help given will be very gratefully received.

Thank you.

Yes £16k should buy you a decent Boxster S complete with 3.2 engine and lots of extra goodies. I paid £15k for an immaculate 2000 Boxster S with FSH though admitedly, this had covered 82,000 miles. Pistonheads is a good place to look as is Autotrader. The Porsche specialist mags are also worth a look. Personally, if I were spending that amount of money - and unless the seller was a bonafide saint - I would prefer to buy from a dealer so at least I would get a warranty etc. The only other point is that you should consider being prepared to travel; £16k is a lot of money to spend and for the sake of a few hours travel and a bit of petrol, you really should end up with a car that has exactly the spec you want.
That said, I bought mine from a dealer just 10 miles down the road...some achievement in the Scottish borders.

Hi Andie, Why not get yourself along to the Dorset region's monthly meet next Thursday evening. Always plenty of advice to be had and possibly some other Boxster owners who's brains you could pick.

We meet at 7.30pm on the 3rd Thursday of each month.

Our meetings are held at the Southern Counties Lodge
Wardon Hill, Evershot, Nr Dorchester, DT2 9PW

Maybe see you there.
