I have 987 Cayman and i am installing a sub in the boot but need to get battery supply to the rear does anyone know where i can pick this up or run it from the front boot

Please can anyone help?

I’m not too sure, but you could pick up the 12V from the armrest, and run it into the engine bay along the shifter cables quite easily - not sure about getting it into the boot though. Plenty if switched supplies in the back, but for a sub you’d really need a decent power supply with a pretty substantial conductor size.

Have you considered installing one in the front footwell, maybe utilise a 2nd hand Bose one if you can find one? You’d have to change the amp inside, but shouldn’t be too difficult if you can. Or maybe rip out the telephone module and put it under the seat?

I assume there would be a 12v feed to the courtesy light switch on rear hatch? But maybe even they are activated via electronic bus these days?

Yeah, the amp for a sub is normally connected to a decent size conductor, so usually be via an in-line fuse connected directly to the battery.

Its not too difficult to get it into the footwell, but really the issue will be running it under trim to the back, or getting it through the engine bay.
