Looking to buy 924

Hi guys,

I'm looking to purchase a 924. Ideally it needs to be automatic so that my wife can also drive it but I would consider a manual if a great car came up at low price, but auto is preferable. Any colour apart from bright red. It's ok if it has a bit of patina, but needs to be structurally sound and totally reliable mechanically.

A few questions:

- what should I be looking to pay for such a vehicle?

- can someone give me a quick summary of the different models available in auto and the 'S' spec?

- where should I look around the car for corrosion?

- any other advice on finding a good example?

- who are the UK specialist mechanics?

- are the automatic ones rare?

There is no practical difference in prices with the exception that you may have more leverage as automatic cars are a little less sought after.

Sills can be a problem area.

You just need to take some time to find a trusted specialist in your area, the forum will guide you if you need.

- are the automatic ones rare?
Not rare, scarce yes. Will take longer to find the one you want.

Got a good, clean, honest 924S manual for sale. Reg 1989 with good number plate (F93 DOM) some think it spells Freedom!!! Good interior, no cracks on dash. Zermatt Metallic Silver/black pinstripe interior. Just having big service including new belts. New MoT. Just driven back from Luxembourg.

92,000 miles. Got most of history. Paul knows the car. Not the cheapest but a good un'. £3,000 no offers. Consider part ex fir left hand drive 924s or 944 as relocating to Luxembourg.
