Looking to buy a 964 C2 coupe

Hi,
Looking to buy a 964 C2 coupe, manual preferably (is auto any good?) I am keen to get one from an enthusiast, well looked after etc.
I am not too fussed on colour, mileage I am open minded depending on condition, service record etc.
If you are looking to sell or know someone who is, please let me know. There does seem to be a few around that have been for sale a while and I am not keen to look at these as others must have walked away?

Cheers
Steve

Hi K90

Yes I've seen yours advertised. I'm really not sure I want an auto, looks like a lovely car mate. Why are you selling it?

Steve

Agree Gordon. I looked at several. Some of them were dire. However the trecking about meant that when I found the 964 I eventually bought it took me about 5 minutes to decide it was a good one. I also had a good feeling for the value in the market as well by then.

Welcome Steve,
Good choice and good to keep your options open. Ultimately buy on condition. Most on here will concur with that. 964's are becoming more popular; not as many for sale at the moment and value does appear to be on the increase.
As has already been pointed out Roly Baldwin at 'eporsch' deals with the older Porsche, might be worth giving him a call.
Best of luck with your search.

Thanks for the welcome guys, I am hoping to go to 'eporsch' next week, it's not too far from me.

The only reason I prefure the C2 over the C4 is that I will not be driving it in bad weather and I am worried about the added expense of looking after a 4WD car and not really getting the benefit?

Another issue is that I really like the older 3.2![:D]

Steve.

Roly does appear to get a number of nice looking 3.2's. No doubt when you go you'll have a good selection to look at.

I'm not aware of any any problems with C4's or any additional maintenance or unreliability issues. Theres an occasional problem with a warning light relating to a sensor.

Go for a car on condition and dont worry about whether its a C4 or C2

I noticed a car in Claasic & Sports, maybe worth further investigation. www.morgan-whaley.co.uk/sales.htm

£11K might have bought something decent about 5 years ago but it won't now IMO.

This sounds like it might be a good 'un

No connection but I've heard good things about the dealer.

Mr911 would appear to have a number of nice 964's for sale at the moment ... also Motorhouse of Shipley and Kenny Dunn.
