Sure Dyllan will do. Incidentally though, to continue this thread, if anyone has any views on whether the powerkit is worth hunting down, I'd be interested to know them :)

Depends what your after - the power kit does change the style of the car somewhat - even though ti red lines at 7450rpm as opposed to just over 7000rpm you end up surfing the torque more as you get more of it lower down the range.

If it was on a car with the spec I wanted, it would be in my mind a definite buy.

It is also a great engine if you are thinking about tuning the car - its far more potent than Porsche allow it to be - restricted air in air out to keep it from embarrassing any of the established hierarchy.

Yes, I am thinking about going to see that one, the mileage is a touch high and I'm not sure about the short shifter, and also I'd rather pay less and buy it privately, particularly from a club member. I guess I'm never get everything I want if I want the powerkit.

Apart from the obvious speed and torque issue, from what I've heard on YouTube videos the noise is awesome, almost going back to a really metallic aircooled tone ;)

The short shift is excellent if a tad sticky when the oil is cold. Given your list of requirements I don't think they will be thick on the ground and the full spec looks very good![;)] Of course you have a lot more come back by not buying privately but ya pays ya money etc etc...... Happy hunting!

Short shift with the powerkit is a no brainer

Most of the ones (powerkit) I am aware of get driven, so actually the mileage in the Pisotnheads add is about right.

25K mles for a 3 year old car is high miliage?
I hope not!![:(]

To be fair its above the average Porsche owners mileage of the olden years..
Year 1 8k
Year 2 6k
Year 3 6K

These cars are meant to be driven, for goodness sake. And they don't cost any more than a top of the range BMW or Merc. It's not as though these are Italian exotics: they'll depreciate whether you drive them or not, but the engine for one will perform better for being used all the time.

agree with all the above!!

i thought when reading about high mileage it was going to be north of 40k miles-couldnt believe it was only 26k!!!

looks well worth a detour !!

Yes, as you say it's not high, it's about average. I just like to buy low mileage cars to help when selling more than anything else. My 996 was 5 years old and had 20k on the clock when I bought it, and my last car, a 993 had 33k on the clock when I sold it a few weeks ago.

I don't think this will help anyone much but my Cayman S is 4 years old and I bought it recently with 9,999 miles on the clock.

Very happy with it too.

Too low a mileage can be as problematic as too high in some cases. The OP has to decide on priorities I suspect. The purchase of a used car is always going to involve some compromise at some point, be it the mileage, the spec, the colour, the age, the price or even the location. To find one which ticks each and every box on your shopping list is a rare thing. (in my humble experience) or maybe I'm just not that patient![;)]
