Not sure there was ever a choice with autos, I thought they were all Lux models so 2.5 N/A engine and 163 BHP?

Car in ad is a US model, perhaps they were different?

I think nearly all variants of the 944 were available as an auto option including the S and 2.7, the Turbo and S2 however were not.

If its a 944S it should have a 16v head that looks like this

The S2 will also look similar but wont be an auto.

The only sure way of telling is probably with the service book or engine/chassis no.

Are you aware of the real mpg from a 944 auto ? A brave man might have one as his daily driver at the moment , Or one who lives 3 miles from work etc. :)

The one in that link is a bit of a bitza!

S2 look front end, but not very well fitted, early "toast rack" rear trim and by the looks of it aftermarket sill covers. The rear wiper should park vertically, not horizontally.

Interior looks to have been only partially retrimmed,

Unless price is VERY good, I'd leave it.

thanks guys. the price is pretty good by the standards here (singapore).

the auto fuel cons isn't too much of a problem as my commute is short but i need an auto for the wife - plus they sell better here!

Paintwork looks lovely although I think the sills/front end detract from the car rather than enhance. I have to say, I really like the interior. [:)]. Good luck.

Ah , your lucky i didnt pick up on your location. I only drive autos if i can, i love them. :). Enjoy the hunt
