Hi Guys
I have found a 2001 facelift cab being offered by choice vehicles in Leics and have tentatively agreed on a price of £39500. Its done 60k miles but was last serviced at 42k miles - they are going to have checked over by Little Aston Porsche OPC and have the 60k mile service done. My question is does anyone here know of the car, the garage concerned and do you think the missing service will make much difference when I come to sell it? Thanks for a forum such as this and thanks for anyone responding/reading this.

Never heard of them, and I live just outside Leicester. I have always bought my cars from AUTOBAHN and Shirleys since I moved up here.

That is quite a high mileage for a 'facelift' 996 - may well have been a 'company' car doing motorway miles. However, it does seem to be partly reflected in the price, which appears fairly reasonable for a dealer supplied Cab in mid-June.

Obviously, when you come to sell it, it will have a higher mileage and you may need to substantiate its service history. I suggest you contact the previous owner (on the V5) and ask for copies of all their service invoices and any other historical records.

I'd value these more than a stamped service book.

that price does seem a lil high for that mileage. i have just bought a late 2001 facelift 996 and it had 15k miles for a only a couple more thousand £ than urs. min was kitted upto the hilt!

is it a high spec'ed car?

The car PCM (Sat Nav), PSM, Embossed seats, full leather, Turbo look wheels, allu bits in the cabin, Sports exhaust, obviously hard top. It has just been checked by Porsche Solihull and is having an slight oil leak on the variocam solinoid done and the 60k mile service with all fluids. It was know to them. Yes it was a company car and had one owner. I only do about 6k miles annum as it is a third car so I thought the miles would look better when I come to sell it. I did think it was only marginally better value than a normal miles car but it is the colour I wanted
 
I have verified the miles - it is not easy to clock these cars I understood apart from replacing the dash. I will ask OPC solihull to check for this as well. Thanks for the advice
