looks a nasty one

Actually, looking at the front bumper blocks, it seems it could be an american spec LHD car.

Which begs the question, Is there more money to be made with the spares by putting this wreck into a container and shipping it to the UK, than doing same over in the states? Or are the laws different maybe?
 
The car in the background looks like an American tank, my guess is that the picture was taken in the States. It is quite possible that the eBay sellers are not breaking this actual car (the listing doesn't say that they are), and the photo used could be an example.
 
I read on another site that it was wrecked by two mechanics (car taken in PX) at a dealership taking the car out for an 'evaluation' run.

Happily, both the driver and his sidekick were fine.
 
That's not the first time I've seen that outcome of an "evaluation run" over the years.[8|]

I remember a car with a "valet mode" switch (can't remember the model - American though), which drastically reduced the power - probably a good idea.
 
My '86 Cabriolet was written of whilst being driven back from it's MOT by the tester....
