Loose Horn Ring

Do you suffer from a floppy semi horn ring? Would you like to stiffen it up?
Well I did & it's nothing to do with my age before you ask!

The cause was the rubber spring behind the ring (called a rubber cup by Porsche, as that is what it looks like) the rubber had age hardened & was no longer flexible, so the ring was apt to come off during the MOT. For years Porsche Centre parts told me that the part for my '72 911 was no longer available....(not even superceded) but by this year it was worsening so whilst at the parts centre I had them do a little investigation on their '65-'67 parts list & would you believe it the part is the same !

So now you too can get rid of a case of the floppies and all for the princely sum of £7.50, they even had one in stock at Reading.[8|]

Glad you got it finally sorted.

Incidentally, the same part was used for all:

'65-'73 911/912 models
'70-'76 914 models

- it has been available from specialists such as Roger Bray (& Pelican, Stoddard, etc in US) for at least the past 10 years ...
