Losing touch with its 'real' readers

Dear Stephen

As editor of Porsche Post, I write to you to complain.

As the owner of a brand new (silver) Porsche 997, I am disgusted at the coverage of the Porsche 912 in the latest edition of the Porsche Post.

My car has electric windows, a sun roof, air-conditioning and a number of other advanced driving aids (not present in the Porsche cars of the past). Why, in the light of this level of modern sophistication, do you insist on boring the readers of your esteemed magazine with a five page article on the porsche 912 ?

The Porsche 912 is not a real Porsche. It does not have 6 cylinders. It does not have fuchs wheels. It does not even have whale tail like those other great 'real' Porsches of the 1980's. Does Joule wear his red braces with pride as he pontificates about the 912 with pride in his article ? No, I think not.

Please, please, please, a feature at least on the boxster in the next issue.

Yours, most, 'faith'fully

No I am not joking.

"it's a car that provides everything that a sports car should - stunning looks, lively performance and superb handling"

Does it have a CD player, does it have Sat Nav, did you have to pay extra for the cup holders ? (yes you did !!)

That Joules bloke needs his head testing !!! As the owner of a proper porsche (all six cylinders, PMT no extra cost) I am disgusted by the coverage that non-proper Porsche's get in the Porsche Post.

Mummery.. .sort it out.

Garfield,

If you really owned a 997, rather than a '69 911T (IIRC), you would know metallic silver is an extra cost option on the current range[:D]

Now go and try a 912 at your earliest convenience[;)]

By the way, you missed cupholders off the list of (non-)essentials[:'(]

BTW - Made me laugh...[:D]

Nice posts......you did forget to mention that you struggle to keep up with Dave (66 white 912) on the way to the ace cafe a while back!!!!!!!

Great to see the 12 in the post + even better to see my car on page 56 (black 12) lookig sorry for its self in the rain at brans.

Have to say congrats to Gav on the article [:D]

Great post Garfield...

and yes I do recall your car being a small dot in my rear view mirror!

D

ps... is it me or do I always bring up (!) the curry night? lets sort it

Oh no I've been rumbled !! Great article Gavin, nice to see some coverage in PP.

Definitely up for a curry night. Everyone can park in my underground car park (for pre-curry tyre kicking) and we can walk to brick lane.

p.s...Am sucumbing to pressure from the girlfriend. Think the '69 T might soon be joined by a Boxster... oh.. perish the thought.
