Loss of Power

I have ben thinking that my car was a bit down on power, but eventally put it down to being used to the power delivery.

Was having a browse on Rennlist and came across a thread on the collapsing of the vacuum distribution tube flattening and strangling the car. So thought I would have a look and there it was, one partially flattened rubber thingy. have now ordered the part from the local OPC for approx £4 and now await its arrival and see if that improves things.

Here is the link which makes interesting reading http://forums.rennlist.com/rennforums/showthread.php?t=173569&page=1&pp=15

There are othe links off this one on the same subject

Part arrived this morning from the Edinburgh OPC and fitted it in about 5 - 10 minutes.

Very easy install, just pull off the 3 tubes and detach the rubber thing from its connector.

Initial impress is that there is an improvement and for the cost of £4.18, money well spent! I do not think that this is the main reason for feeling the car was lacking up the rev range but it is obviously a contributary factor

Below is a picture of the part off my car against the new one, a big difference in shape.

good info there Will !

might have to have a look at mine !

although that will prob' take me 20 mins to fit !

Maurice,

The parts look the same but the area that has collapsed feels stronger in the new one, that of course may just be that it is new and not started to deteriorate!

Forgot to mention the part number and description for anybody interested.

Part number is 993.110.573.00 N/STK DISTRIBUTI
