Evening all.

Just finding my way around this new forum set up/thing.

Chugged on up to Lotherton Hall last Sunday morning along with my good mate Dave C (he has a red GT3).

Took my venerable old tub (yes ..... the infamous saved it from scrap man S2) and we enjoyed a good day out - all in a good cause with sponsorship from Strasse Leeds and Specialist Cars Malton.

Couldn't help noticing that other 944's were very thin on the ground. I had a chat with Andy (fellow member on here ... not met him before ..... thoroughly decent bloke) who had travelled up from Leicester in his metallic burgundy coloured S2.

I think apart from a superb white turbo (from the north east and whose owner I also met) we were the only S2's at this event along with a mere handful of other 944's. This seemed very strange as there was an excellent turnout of cars across the full range of Porsche models - did this event clash with another one I wonder? Shame if it did.

Oh well not to worry ....... off for a quick blast now over the hills before the sun goes down :)

Best regards to 944 owners everywhere - regardless of how you spend your Sundays.

Zeusy .

Zeusy,

Was that the white S2 ? you had a craic with me, i had the silver 997 in front of you, i had my 944 Turbo there last year, the white car was Mike Moore's he was with me, we are from Cumbria not the NE, Steve Bradburn was also there in his 996 Turbo he also has a very nice 87 944 Turbo in red, you are right they were thin on the ground.

We should make the effort next year and roll up in them !

You had been speaking to Mike Pollock in the burgundy S2, i would say Mike gets to more Porsche events than anyone i know.

Good on you for saving it, way too good to cannabilise.

The hair and the beard tie in with your username !!

Regards Jim.

Hi Jim.

Ha ha! I am indeed that man.

I enjoyed our natter but geography was never my strong point.

Did Mikes turbo win a prize in the clean car competition? It has to be one of the best around - an absolute beauty. I was really taken by yours too and I am seriously considering swapping my 993 for one like it ....... but then again I may not ;-)

Did you notice how the 964 contingent had their own thing going on over at the back - I had a wander across for a look around - some quality motors there too ....... I even photographed a few.

I still have a lot more work to do to my S2 but I thought I ought to give it a run during the summer at least and then tackle a few jobs next winter - I am gradually accumulating the parts I need ..... picked up the brake pipes for it today.

We will have to link up again some time.

Zeusy.

Well done Howard - get them interested while they are still young!

Sorry I didn't meet up with you ....... but I will probably have taken a photo of your motor - cant help it - bit of an old anorak I suppose.

:)

Not aware of anything else Porsche related going on that day.

It is sad but true that we don't get many 944s (and even less 924s) to many things. I think there were quite a few there on Sunday though. A nice 924 too.

Mike's turbo got 3rd in visitors class and stunning 85 944 got first in Regional Wafter cooled. The chap that won air cooled had his 944 S2 cab with him. We also had a 944 turbo cab in the concours. So I think the 944 was well represented.

Didnt really notice the 964 job on their own, until I was picking up their flyers when cleaning up at the end.

The 964 lads had a photoshoot together near the end, i came down with a couple of them and a mate from Warrington turned up in his, it was sorted via 911UK.com but most of them are PCGB.

Fuel light came on in Tadcaster !

Zuess, yes keep in touch, send me a PM and i will give you my e mail address and keep you up to speed with 944 stuff

Hello Mark.

I didn't know that you had a 944 too.

Zeusy.

Been off the road for a while, but am finally on with it. Got inlet manifold off last week and aiming for cam thing this and head next. Just struggling to find time. was supposed to be finished this month but just too busy doing club stuff. Now Lotherton is gone should have more time, once I clear the gazebo, signs and other show parifinalea back into the garage loft.
