Lotherton Hall in retrospect

Many thanks to Mark and Carol for their sterling work in setting up and co-ordinating todays event. Also thanks must go to the teams from Strasse and Specialist Cars for their continued support. The staff members and their families from Strasse were particularly hard pressed at times but still came through!

For our part, we enjoyed the day, weather, company and felt the venue better than Harewood being more intimate and easier to get around. (Just a thought). Hope the visitors from other regions enjoyed it too.

Just so some of you know, it p----- down on the way home.

Well done to Carol & Mark great day and for once the British weather was on it's best behaviour.
Was nice to see the our old Boxster S (pevious porsche) [;)]on the Strasses stand, still looking as good as ever.
Thanks to all the sponsors for all their support.

Well done R7 great turnout

Many thanks Mark and Carol and to all who were involved with today's event.
This was the other half's first show of this kind and was thoroughly enjoyed, even to the extent that she asked the question, "When is the next?"

Great show, great turnout, some fantastic exhibits, great location and the weather held out.

Thanks again.

Mike and Jill.

Well done to Mark and R7 members from all in R3, a better venue than Harewood. Some fabulous cars in the concourse a credit to all who entered

hope to see you all at Beamish on the 9th September

I couldn't agree more with my esteemed peer members. Well done Carol & Mark. A great day out. Hope the weather bypassed you at the end of the day. Really enjoyed myself today. Thanks to all our friends in the region who wished Lisa well. Much appreciated by us both. Look forward to Beamish. See you all then. M&L.

An all round excellent day thanks to Mark and Carol, Dave and team from Strrasse and John and team from Specialist Cars. Although I only managed a few hours it was great to see a fantastic turn out and catch up with so many people.

Can someone update me with who was placed in the concours as I had to go before the results were announced?

Thanks Mark and Carol and team for a great day - wonderful setting especially the gardens and some interesting items on display in the house. New to us and much better than Harewood.

Also thanks to the sponsors, Strasse and Specialist Cars - good job as usual.

Sunny ride home fortunately with roof off!

Top day, thanks to all involved for setting up and running the event - thought we were very lucky weather wise, great venue and atmosphere, will look forward to the next one ;-)))

A big thank you to Mark & Carol for organising a great event at Lotherton. There is so much behind the scenes work put into a day like this that goes unseen. I think the change of venue was good, it seemed somehow more personal and contained, and I thought the music was fun, even ithough it was a shock to see a Porsche Centre salesman performing, the who we ordered Julias Boxster through!

Once again a BIG thank you to you both.

Also thanks to Specialist Cars & Strasse for their sponsorship (and Food)

Great day out, thanks Mark and Carol. Lotherton seems to be a great success, loads of really good cars there.
See you at Beamish.

Chris and Delia.

Well done to the organisers, helpers and sponsors. This was our first Regional event for a while so we spent most of the time caching up with old friends, which was great.

Like the new venue - not only does it make a change from Harewood, it worked better and I understand was a lot less stressful to organise!

Thanks everybody.

Ian and Sharon.

We are really glad that everyone had a good day, we did too if a slightly long one. It was quite daunting moving venues and date after it spending such a long time in the same place but I think it really worked and the new site gave the event a closer and cosier feel to it. It was a shame that the entrance wasn't finished in time, but compared to other events that got washed away we were lucky to have such a good day. The entrance will definitely be fixed for next year, in fact the are laying the Tarmac today.

It still amazes me that we stayed dry and largely in the sunshine, other than that brief shower at 11.30, it certainly looks like we were in a halo of sunshine given the thunder claps going on around us, I guess all the dad dancing and finger crossing paid off, it had been a very nervous week.

We can't thank Lindsay Dobby and all at Strasse, John and his team at Specialist Cars enough for their support for the event, without which it wouldn't be anything like as successful and probably not doable. Lindsay puts in some serious hours bringing the trade stalls, catering, band and Strasse stand together; they were onsite from first thing until gone 5.00pm on Saturday and that is on top of all the previous site visits that we do. Carol also deserves a special mention as she put put in a lot of hours dealing with Lotherton and Leeds council, filling in paper work and some serious time with the laminator (she loves this as a stationary junky!).

On the day we had about 350 cars come through the gates and we collected just over £1500, which Strasse rounded up to £2000, for the Candlelighters charity which is an incredible amount and very generous.

We will be sending out the results sheets to everyone who entered the Regional Concours in the next couple of days.

If anyone has any decent photos that they think could go up on the gallery let me know, I will be putting this together during the day, and I have some rather special images...
