Loud buzz....AAV?

Morning anyone,

Good drive at the weekend but noticed a loud buzzing noise from engine compartment, drivers side. Mainly appears when I am coming off the throttle.

Looking at pelican parts forum could this be the Ambiant Air Value AAV next to the oil filler?

Anyone had this issue and got some ideas?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Hi
Contact Charles Marsland who knows most things about 3.2 Carreras he is their technical guy[:D]

We get this on our 1985 3.2 as well, it is intermittent, no pattern to it. I have had the offending valve replaced several times by Autostrasse in Coggeshall to no avail. We have just learned to live with it, there doesn't seem to be any adverse affect on performance.

Have spoken to Charles and need to check diaphragm in AAV and hoses...will let you know if it's a simple fix!

Thanks all

James

Hi James
Some more info, on the back of the throttle body is a thermo control valve this opens the RAV about £27.00, can't see a way of testing it.
Also the Recirculating air valve has no spare parts can only get new £40.00, make sure you have no air or vacuum leaks.

Charles
