Loud buzzing from dash. Then heated mirrors wont turn off!

Water under the seats ?

Sounds like the water drain holes are blocked and water has made it to a control unit under the seat.

You may want to consider drying up the water ASAP as things can go from bad (reversible) to worse and the control unit under the seat is circa £200 plus coding and worst case new key remotes

Hi Nick. Jst been out to check! Bone dry under both the seats. The loud buzzing started as soon as i turned the key this morning. Lasted about 10-15 seconds. Now the light on the electric mirrors switch comes on and stays on whenever the other dashboard lights are on. Pressing the switch has no effect. It only goes out when the car is locked with the remote?

By the electric mirror switch you mean the one that looks like the heated rear window logo? Still sounds water related but pointing towards water near relay area in footwell above fuse panel. If you look in the morning to the left and right side of battery under the cover it may give more of a clue to where water has come in.

Hi Nick. Yes that's the one. I've got the day off tomorrow so will go see what my local indy can spot. Thanks for your posts. I'll let you know how i get on.

Got in this AM and all ok - touch wood. Still got a bit of a glow on the switch tho - is this normal? Can't remember! A definite on off click now tho.

Drying out ... glad things seem ok. Job for the weekend ... Drain holes ... Front and rear .... Length of net curtain wire works for those.

Disconnect battery and re-connect. May be a computer issue - will reset everything. I had this for a while after I changed my stereo. The demister light swicth would suddenly come on when driving. Initilayy though it was due to wiring having been disturbed. But has not occurred since I disconnected battery and reconnected. Worth a try ?

Thanks for your help guys. Just spent an hour or so cleaning out soggy damp gunge from around the bottom of the battery and further down. Used a customised coat hanger in the end. Fingers crossed that sorts it. Thanks again.
